Ephesians 4:1 -3 I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
But I don’t have a real calling, you say. Ah, but you do. Whether you are a housewife who seldom leaves the home or a business person who is out and about all the time, you have a vocation, a calling. Your calling is what you do all day.
God didn’t put you where you are without a reason. He has a plan for your life. You may be only vaguely aware of any plan, but He has it in hand. There are many parts to this plan. You have no idea how many people are watching you, what you do, how you handle adversity, how you reflect God’s will.
So in everything we do, we should put our all into the work, just as if we were doing it directly for the Lord. In fact, we are doing it for the Lord. If someone else benefits, that’s just gravy.
Help us to remember that all we think or do or say is thought or done or said for You. Help us to keep our thoughts pure, our conversation edifying, and our deeds beneficial for the kingdom.
In Jesus’ most precious name.
